Hello, this is Marta Maria Madej, author of the project "The force of form - Pop-up. Polish female artists of the 20th and 21st centuries" - Interpretations of works by Polish female artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, created using the pop-up paper mechanics technique.

"The forse of form..." is an interdisciplinary project combining art, design, and spatial analysis. Its central element is a pop-up publication consisting of 40 three-dimensional interpretations of works by 41 Polish women artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Each structure was designed to reveal, through movement and mechanics, characteristic features of creative thinking: the way form is constructed, the relationships between elements, the dynamics of composition, and spatial tensions. The pop-up can be opened, touched, and activated, making form a language, and movement a tool for reading art. The project arose from the need to look at the artists' work from a different perspective. I wanted to use the pop-up technique I use to transfer the artists' works from a museum context to a spatial form, place them side by side, and see how they begin to operate within a shared structure. The publication is accompanied by appendices describing selected works, short biographies of the artists, and original texts that structure the context and open up a space for further reflection on the representation and visibility of women in art. The project is also developing in the form of workshops, during which participants can independently work with the mechanics of paper - during which you can see how the structure affects the reception and interpretation of the image © 2025 Marta Maria Madej
